Secondhand Jesus                                                     By Glenn Packiam (211 pages... light reading)          Subject: Inspirational/Motivational                         2009

Packiam explores the theme of the downfalls of living someone else’s faith.  With insightful narrative, he warns Christians about living a life not connected to God.  He starts off by recounting his own pain in the moral downfall of his senior pastor.  That pain caused him to re-think his relationship with God and reasons for doing ministry.

Packiam goes on to describe four rumors about God:  1) God will give me what I want,  2) God can be added to my list of loyalties, 3) God is pleased with my goodness, and 4) God prefers specialists.

This book is easy to read and inspires us to seek God directly, passionately and honestly.

I highly recommend it for a fresh dose of inspiration.
